Local government budget inefficiencies, waste, and outdated / cumbersome procurement regimes have resulted in several County Councils, INCLUDING SUFFOLK, being effectively insolvent.
Local politicians, of any political party, have proven totally inept in running our councils like proper businesses; Their ONLY REMEDY to huge budget deficits is to RAISE TAXES yet again, (whether it is Council tax, Constabulary precept, Whitehall handouts), or to cut vital services.
The leaders of our Councils ARE NOT measured or held to account. The ONLY time you hear from them is when they wish to be re-elected. Until then, local politicians have NIL accountability or public scrutiny on how they glibly spend / waste our money. They ARE NOT transparent nor open to the public interest. WE are being ignored and taken for granted.
IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, that hard-earned Suffolk taxpayer money is spent with businesses outside our County, and there is not the slightest reason it should be so. We have a wealth of experienced businesses in Suffolk, that can EASILY supply ANY requirements of our County Council, or District Councils, and save taxpayer money too.
The PRIMARY MISSION of Action Not Excuses is to DEMAND that 100% of Suffolk taxpayers money is spent with SUFFOLK based businesses, without any inertia or lame political excuses.
